Taverns in early Connecticut were more than just a place to drink. Travelers and locals alike saw taverns a a place to be entertained, spread news and gossip, have a good meal, and get a night’s lodging. Learn about how taverns were an essential part of every Connecticut town. 

This program will be presented by Rachel Beauchemin, a Museum Educator at the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History. Rachel develops and teaches educational programs for school and adult audiences. She has had experience in both education and museums in CT and holds a B.A. in Political Science and Women’s Studies from Gettysburg College.
