Our Summer Reading Program starts Mondaty, June 29th at 1:00pm with a dino-mate kickoff party! Throughout summer, patrons of all ages can track their reading and program participation to earn points for prizes and raffles at our end Games ceremony on August 13th. Find all the details on this page.
Here’s how we’re tracking:
Children and Teens are encouraged to use ReadSquared for digitally tracking their Summer Reading or to print this document for paper tracking. Adults can track their Summer Reading using this Bingo card.
Kickoff: Monday, June 29th, 1:00-5:00pm
Join us for a fun-filled celebration to launch the season! This year’s theme is Unearth a Story, so we’ll be offering all sorts of dinosaur and fossil activities and crafts, in addition to free food and drinks!
Featured Activities
- The Big Dig fossil excavation in our sandbox in the library garden from 1:00-5:00pm
- Fossil Presentation by Stamford Museum & Nature Center in the Community Room at 1:00pm
- All Ages Music Performance by Brendan and Nikita in the library garden at 3:00pm
Features of Adult Summer Reading:
The Adult Summer Reading Bingo will bring discovery and fun to your summer, one square at a time! Finish 5 activities to complete a line on the Bingo board (across, down, or diagonal). Each line earns an entry into our end-of-summer raffle, featuring prizes that will help keep the fun going well beyond summer. You could earn up to 12 raffle entries!

Bring home a Book Buddy for every 10 books checked out! Limit one per person per week.

- Crochet Camp (requires registration)
- Shorts for Littles movie theater for young children
- Valley Tales on the Derby Greenway all ages walking club
- Game Time! chess and board game club for school-aged children

Summer End Games: Thursday, August 13th from 1:00-5:00pm
Our epic Summer Reading finale! We’ll have lots of activities and crafts, indoor and outdoor, as well as free ice cream! Also, trade in all the points you’ve collected for prizes, raffle tickets, and exclusive activities.
