For children of all ages.
Join Brendan in the Children’s Room for a musical storytelling experience like no other! We retell stories from popular books, movies, and history with accompanying visuals and live music. Kids who attend should be comfortable sitting and watching for about 30 minutes, although questions, comments, singing along, and dancing are certainly welcome!
This week’s theme is censorship. Libraries routinely face attempts to remove books or other materials from the collection, but librarians’ code of ethics is rooted in intellectual freedom, which protects an individual’s right to access information even if others find it objectionable. We’ll read stories and sing songs that celebrate individual choice, standing up for rights, and the freedom to read.
